– Melinda began working for the firm in 1986, dealing mainly with probate work. Whilst continuing to work, Melinda studied part time in order to qualify first as a legal executive and then a solicitor. She was admitted to the Roll as a solicitor in 1997.
Melinda deals with wills, probate and trusts as well as mental health tribunals and Court of Protection work.
Melinda is a member of Solicitors for the Elderly, the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners, and is also on The Law Society’s Mental Health Panel and The Public Guardianship Office Panel of Professional Receivers.

– Philip studied law at Hull University and then at the College of Law in Chester. He trained in general practice in London and qualified as a solicitor in 1995. Philip then moved to a firm in Kent where he became a partner. Philip moved back to Essex in 1997 and went into partnership with his father, Tony, and sister, Melinda.
Philip deals with a wide range of contentious matters from matrimonial law to personal injury, inheritance claims, commercial litigation and landlord and tenant law. He also challenges Health Authorities in order to increase NHS contributions to nursing home fees on behalf of clients who are in receipt of residential nursing care.
Philip is a member of The Association of Contentious Trust and Probate Specialists, Resolution (formerly the Solicitors Family Law Association) and is a qualified mediator, accredited by the Civil Mediation Council.

– John started practising law in 1973. He joined the firm in 1979 and has dealt exclusively with residential and commercial conveyancing since then.
Although John has dealt with properties throughout the UK, most of his work is concentrated in the local area and, over the years, he has probably bought and sold properties for clients in just about every street in the boroughs of Castle Point and Southend-on-Sea.
In respect of his commercial work, John deals with the buying and selling of business from small shops to hotels and shopping centres.

– Debbie studied law at Anglia Ruskin University in Chelmsford, Essex and qualified as a solicitor in 2004. Debbie joined the firm in the summer of 2005.
Debbie works exclusively in matrimonial and family law to include divorces, cohabitation disputes and cases involving children (which includes contact and residence disputes, domestic violence injunctions and care proceedings)

McCarthy – Vincent joined the firm in April 2007.He studied law at the University of East London and APU in Chelmsford, qualifying as a solicitor in 1997. Previously, Vincent worked in the building and construction industry for 15 years.
Vincent deals with a range of contentious matters from medical negligence and accident claims, civil and contract disputes, employment disputes and all aspects of matrimonial/family law.

| – Caroline studied law and sociology at Cardiff University before joining the firm in 2005 to complete the practical side of her training. Caroline qualified as a solicitor in 2007.
Caroline specialises in employment law, acting for both employees and employers on a range of issues from discrimination to compromise agreements. Caroline is also able to advise in all areas of education law matters such as special educational needs statements and school admissions.
Caroline also deals with a variety of family law matters including divorces and children matters, particularly matters involving social services.
